- ¾ C butter
- 1 ½ plus 2 Tbsp flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt (coarse salt)
- ½ C granulated sugar
- 1 C brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 C pecans, coarsely chopped
- 4.4 oz white chocolate bar, coarsely chopped (or less than ½ bag white chocolate chips)
- Coarse sea salt or kosher salt to sprinkle on top
Preheat 350. Use 9 x 9 baking pan with parchment paper and two inch overhang or double batch on cookie sheet- line with parchment paper
Whisk flour baking powder and salt
Melt butter in saucepan, simmer until starts to turn brown and foamy–(minute starts to turn gold with a hint of brown, take off). Remove from heat. Stir in sugars until smooth. Pour into mixing bowl. Let cool slightly. Whisk in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla and whisk until smooth. Whisk in flour mixture just until blended. Fold in white chocolate.
Note: Batter is sticky and hard to spread. Sprinkle chopped nuts evenly over top and press lightly. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown until toothpick comes out slightly clean. Remove from oven and sprinkle lightly with salt.
